Tumbo - African Bullfrog

Tumbo's name comes from the Swahili word for "Belly". We often say that all that goes on in Tumbo's head is elevator music. At around the size of a softball, Tumbo has quite the appetite, as the name suggests.

Tumbo - African Bullfrog

Tumbo the african bullfrog has been with the sanctuary since January of 2021. Typically, he does not move around a whole lot, but when he does, it is in a quick strike at his next meal. Because of his intense size, Tumbo’s favorite foods come in the form of large insects, and even some small rodents on occasion.

Tumbo, being an amphibian, provides us with an excellent opportunity to educate the public about the differences between reptiles and amphibians, as well as the care we need to take of our waterways to preserve amphibian species like him.

He would serve as a great sponsorship opportunity for any individual or company looking for an animal that has a huge appetite, embodies the need for conservation, or even one that has little to no idea what is going on, and shows that in his blank stare.
