Bullseye - Cuban Tree Frog
Bullseye the Cuban Tree Frog may not look like much, but he is one of our most unique rescue stories to date! He is part of the largest tree frog species in North America, coming from Cuba naturally, they have also become invasive in the southern US.

Bullseye came to the sanctuary in July of 2024 when we received a call about a frog that came in on a shipment of plants to a Target in West Des Moines. With the shipment coming from Florida, Bullseye traveled at least 1300 miles on a refrigerated truck to arrive here in Iowa!
Due to his journey, he is named after the target dog, “Bullseye”! Cuban Tree Frogs are actually invasive in Florida, so we didn’t feel as bad about him coming from the wild, but we knew that there were inherent challenges with taking him in. Despite those challenges, Bullseye thrived in our care and has been a blast to have around!
While Bullseye is probably the animal that traveled the furthest to now be at the sanctuary, that doesn’t change that he is just as loving and personable as our other ambassadors. He is a great symbol of resilience and perseverance in his journey that brought him here today!
