Chamille - Chameleon Gecko
Chamille is a small but beautiful species of gecko from New Caledonia like many of the other arboreal geckos. The Chameleon Geckos, as they are called, are actually a group of 4 species of geckos. Chamille is a personable example of these geckos that is known for her large hunchback.

Chamille came to the Sanctuary in February of 2024 when she was looking for a home from a previous breeder that didn’t want to risk passing her deformity on to offspring. We gladly provided her a home with us where she can meet our visitors.
Because of her story, Chamille serves as a great example of ethical breeding practices and how we can still love and support animals even if they aren’t cosmetically ideal. Chamille is still as enjoyed by our visitors as if she was a “normal” gecko.
If you want to support an animal that is a symbol of ethical breeding, or the perseverance and beauty in the atypical animals in our lives, Chamille may just be a great ambassador for you!
